Last updated: 29 September 2026
1. Privacy policy
Spectrans 24/7 (“Spectrans”, “we”, “us”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA) and other applicable South African law. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it and how we protect it.
Information we collect
- Enquiry and quote forms: your name, company, email address, phone number, collection and delivery points, and the details you provide about your cargo and requirements.
- Direct contact: information you give us when you phone or email us.
- Technical information: our hosting server keeps standard log files (such as IP address, browser type and pages visited) for security and troubleshooting.
How we use your information
- to respond to your enquiry and prepare quotations;
- to provide and administer the transport services you request;
- to send you service updates or marketing communications, only where you have consented;
- to keep our website secure and comply with our legal obligations.
We only collect information that is adequate, relevant and not excessive for these purposes. We do not sell your personal information.
Sharing your information
We may share your information with our employees and operational teams who need it to handle your request, with trusted service providers (such as our website host and email provider) who process it on our behalf under appropriate confidentiality and security obligations, and with authorities where required by law. Where we use service providers outside South Africa, we will ensure that adequate protection is in place as required by POPIA.
Security and retention
We take appropriate, reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against loss, damage and unauthorised access — including encrypted (HTTPS) transmission of website form data. We keep personal information only for as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected, or as required by law.
2. POPIA & your rights
Under POPIA, you have the right to:
- ask whether we hold personal information about you, and request access to it;
- ask us to correct or delete personal information that is inaccurate, irrelevant, excessive, out of date, incomplete, misleading or unlawfully obtained;
- object to the processing of your personal information, including for direct marketing;
- withdraw your consent at any time (this does not affect processing that took place before withdrawal);
- lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa (inforegulator.org.za).
To exercise these rights, please contact our Information Officer using the details in section 7.
3. Cookies & analytics
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. The enquiry form may use Google reCAPTCHA to protect against spam, which is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. The embedded Google Map on our contact page is provided by Google and may set its own cookies. If we introduce website analytics in future, we will update this section and, where required, ask for your consent.
4. Marketing communications
We will only send you marketing communications if you have opted in (for example, by ticking the marketing box on our enquiry form) or where otherwise permitted by POPIA and the Consumer Protection Act. Every marketing message will include a simple way to unsubscribe, and you can opt out at any time by contacting us.
